Are your feet suffering from pain and plantar fasciitis perhaps? Do you wish to provide them with extra protection and comfort? The Superfeet insoles are one of the best options in the market. The brand offers quality shoe inserts for almost every type of foot and activity. Still, due to the humongous variety of insoles, choosing the right Superfeet product for our feet can be quite the ordeal. Besides, the unusual color system they manage doesn’t make it easier.

We’ve created this guide to help you match your Superfeet insoles to your feet, footwear and activities. Follow this guide to achieve the best possible performance and the greatest comfort. First of all, the key to understanding the “Super feet” selection system relies on two attributes: profile and volume.

Insole PROFILE: Describes the height of the insole and how it feels under your foot.
LOW
Shapes and support that accommodate the widest variety of foot types. Insoles that, typically, suit people with flat feet or low arches.
MEDIUM
Inserts that target neutral arches and provide a moderate amount of shape and support.
HIGH
Shoe inserts that target people with high arches and offer the best shape and support.
Insole VOLUME: How much space the insole requires inside your shoe.
LOW
Inserts that suit almost every shoe or boot since they take up less space in your footwear.
MEDIUM
Insoles that suit casual shoes and footwear designed for an active lifestyle
HIGH
Inserts that fit best in shoes or boots with extra space.

Now we’ve clarified the selection system you can decide the type of insole profile you desire. Furthermore, in the following paragraphs you can find detailed information for the available insoles.

1. Low Profile Superfeet Insoles

Low profile “Super feet” inserts typically suit people with flat feet and/or low arches. Also, these products offer shapes and support that accommodate the widest variety of foot types. Besides, all of them are available in men’s, women’s, and junior sizes.

Superfeet BLACK (Low Volume Footwear Insole)

Superfeet Insoles - Superfeet BlackEspecially suited for low arches and/or flat feet, they are Superfeet’s most versatile shoe inserts. Thanks to their low volume, they fit great in tight-fitting athletic, stylish footwear as well as a broad range of shoes. Besides, their adaptable heel cup provides stability and their flexible shape reduces joint stress. Still, the shortage of enough cushion may be a problem for those with delicate feet. Additionally, check out our in-depth Superfeet Black insoles review.

Superfeet COPPER (High Volume)

Superfeet Insoles - Superfeet COPPERThe Superfeet COPPER insoles differ from the BLACK in that they also include a layer of memory foam on top. This foam molds to your feet shape under the pressure of your body weight. As result, they provide a personalized fit while avoiding the time-consuming expense of cast or baked products. Hence, this layer makes them ideal for those with low arches and sensitive feet. Finally, as I wrote in the “Super feet” COPPER insoles review, these are the ones I use for running and they are one of the best insoles for plantar fasciitis.

Superfeet YELLOW (Low Volume Footwear Insole)

Superfeet Insoles - Superfeet YELLOWThese are the recommended option to be worn in skating boots or footwear designed for use on two wheels. They also work great in shoes with heels or cowboy boots. Their elevated heel and adaptable shaped heel cup provide high-impact support. Besides, their biomechanical shape is perfect for pedals or wheels without stressing your joints. The Superfeet YELLOW vented design matches the outsole holes in hockey skates and cycling shoes. In consequence, it improves drainage, adds breathability and facilitates air circulation.

2. Medium Profile “Super feet” Insoles

Medium profile insoles target neutral arches and provide a moderate amount of shape and support.

Superfeet Blue (Medium Volume)

Superfeet Insoles - Superfeet BLUEThis product is available in men’s, women’s and junior sizes and it  suits high activity lifestyles on low- to medium-arched feet. It’s a thin but especially durable high-performance product that suits a varied range of footwear. The Superfeet Blue shallow heel cup helps your heel assume an ideal position for natural impact absorption. In addition, their medium profile provides biomechanical support without taking up too much space in your shoes.

Superfeet Berry (High Volume)

Superfeet Insoles - Superfeet BERRYOnly available in women’s sizes, the Superfeet Berry insoles feature a narrow heel and slim arch contour to suit the anatomy of the female foot. Their extra cushioning suits medium to high arches and a wide variety of active lifestyle pursuits. Besides, a deep heel cup adds high-impact support while the slim contours of the insoles help reduce joint stress. To accommodate the arches of women’s feet, Superfeet reduced the distance between the heel cup and the ball of the foot in the design of the Berry.

3. High Profile Superfeet Insoles

High profile Superfeet products are designed for people with high arches and they offer the best shape and support.

Superfeet GREEN (High Volume)

Superfeet Insoles - Superfeet Green

Available in men’s, women’s and junior sizes, these are the Superfeet’s original—and best known—shoe inserts. Their high profile and high volume work great in high activity settings and provide vital shock absorption. It’s typically most comfortable for medium- to high-arched feet. The Superfeet GREEN offer a wide, deep heel cup for outstanding support and a highly shaped arch. The combination of both results in foot support and stress reduction on weight-bearing joints. Additionally, check out our Superfeet GREEN insoles review for extra information.

Superfeet ORANGE (High Volume)

Superfeet Insoles - Superfeet ORANGEThe Superfeet ORANGE are also high profile, high volume insoles. Still, they differ from the GREEN in a few aspects. The main difference is that the ORANGE insoles provide extra shock absorption padding in the forefoot. This extra padding is perfect for high-impact sports and other activities that make your feet take a pounding. Additionally, the ORANGE feature a narrow heel cup while the one in the GREEN insoles is wider. In conclusion, the ORANGE provide more comfort while, at the same time, requiring roomier shoes.

Superfeet wideGREEN (High Volume)

Superfeet Insoles - Superfeet wideGREENThe Superfeet wideGREEN insoles are an evolution of the GREEN that adapt to a foot sized 3E to 6E. In consequence, if you don’t wear 3E to 6E shoes, you presumably don’t require the wideGREEN. Even so, it should be noted that they feature the widest, deepest heel cup in all the “Super feet”. This feature translates into a remarkable shock absorption.

Regardless of the Superfeet insoles you select, remember to check for proper fit. Verify that your heel fits entirely within the heel cup of the insole and doesn’t extend over its edge. In addition, pick one Superfeet letter size larger if your first choice is too narrow for your feet or your toes project beyond the edge of the insole.

4. Superfeet Insoles F.A.Q.

What is my size?

When it comes to footwear, there is no industry standard. This situation makes it a little tricky when buying from different locations. Whilst you might fit a size 6 in one store, you might be a size smaller or larger elsewhere. For this reason, Superfeet has designed full-length insoles in increments of around one and a half sizes. After purchasing, simply trim the insole and deal with the different variations.

When looking for the correct size for you, go up a size if the insole is too narrow. Also, you should go up a size if your toes overhang the foam forefront whilst maintaining your heel within the heel cup.

How do I trim my Superfeet insoles?

In truth, the trimming process is extremely simple and we have a step-by-step guide here.

Superfeet Trim Fit Instructions

Step 1 – Remove any existing insole if necessary.

Step 2 – After placing the Superfeet on a surface, put the standard insole on top and line up the heels and inside edges. Then, draw around the outline onto the Superfeet. If the insole is stuck in place, place the Superfeet under the shoe and mark the toe line.

Step 3 – Start by trimming around the outside of the marks you created. Always start big and then you can trim more, if necessary.

Step 4 – Insert the Superfeet and ensure that it has a little room to move so it doesn’t resist when your feet are inside. Keep trimming and testing until it is correctly sized.

What is considered a Superfeet’s lifetime?

Ultimately, this will very much vary from person to person after considering gait, usage, and weight. Commonly, the insoles can last between 300-500 miles when it comes to everyday wear and running shoes which equates to around a year. Of course, you will need to take into account how much you will use them because they will last longer if they are worn an hour a day as opposed to all day at work.

Normally, your feet will tell you everything you need to know so there is no need to panic. If you feel as though the Superfeet is no longer supporting your feet, they may need to be replaced.

What about using my Superfeet with waterproof liners?

Over time, many orthotics will wear through the lining so this is a good question.

Protect – Firstly, the insoles should not come in contact with the liner if you are going to use a Superfeet insole that is not recommended for the job. As a solution, why not try a thin strip of duct tape? As long as you place it correctly (on the bottom of the stabilizer cap), it will provide a protective lining. Alternately, you could place a volume reducer between the inner liner and the insole.

Remove – Secondly, your shoes should be inspected regularly regardless of what insoles you use. By this, we mean get to any dirt, stones, or sand that may be in between the shoes and insoles. If you want to get the most life out of the product, you need to prevent wear and this is one way of doing so.

How should I clean my Superfeet insoles?

When it comes to cleaning insoles, you should always hand wash them by using a little soap in lukewarm water. If necessary, grab an old toothbrush as a tool. After, remove any excess water with a towel and allow them to air dry. Aside from this, do not hang them in front of heat to dry and do not put them in a machine to wash or dry.

What is the 60-day comfort guarantee?

Since Superfeet insoles are designed with comfort and support in mind, they simply aren’t doing their job if you do not experience both. If this is the case, Superfeet Premium Insoles can be returned to your place of purchase for a refund if within 60 days. If the shoe inserts have been abused or misused, the refund will not be given.

Can I move them from one shoe to another?

When buying new shoes, feel free to take the insoles with you and you can make sure that you buy the right size. If necessary, remove the manufacturers insole or sock liners to try new shoes correctly.

Can I use my Superfeet insoles with heel lifts or full-length lifts?

As long as there is enough room to accommodate the insole and the heel lift, there is no reason why they cannot be used together. If possible, connect the bottom of the insole to the heel lift using glue or tape.

Can Superfeet insoles help heel spurs?

In truth, this depends because they may but they also may not. In most cases, comfort will be improved via more cushion when the deep heel cup holds more fat under the heel bone.

Can Superfeet insoles prevent foot elongation?

When weighted, the foot can sometimes lengthen but Superfeet insoles prevent this by stabilizing the foot. When this happens, the overall fit will be improved and foot elongation will be reduced.

Can they help with plantar fasciitis?

Although they will help because it stabilizes the foot, it won’t work in all cases. As the foot is stabilized, it normally relieves stress on the plantar fascia.

Can pronation be stopped with Superfeet insoles?

No, pronation is actually a biological process of dealing with shock. During this process, the body weight will be absorbed as the foot expands. As we tend to walk on hard surfaces, our feet are in the pronated position for an extended period of time during the gait cycle.

Why are my Superfeet insoles squeaking?

As the insoles move independently inside the shoe, a squeaking sound will often be heard as they move with your feet. Typically, this will happen in the first couple of weeks as they mold to your feet but will soon disappear.

If the squeak remains, you should check the trimming of the insole. If you pull out the shoe inserts and see creases at the top or bottom, this suggests that they have been cut too long so try and trim a little off. As mentioned before, the insoles need to move with your feet rather than being static. If the squeaking continues even after it is correctly sized, try a little talc on the inside of the shoe as well as on the bottom of the stabilizer cap.

What if the insoles are causing for odor?

If you notice an increase in foot odor, we have a few tips for you to follow;

•   Refrain from wearing the same shoes for three days straight

•   Try different brands or material of sock

•   Let your shoes air out each night by removing the insoles

•   Apply lotion to your feet regularly

•   Add baby powder to the insole and the shoe

•   Clean the insoles using the advice given before

•   Soak your feet in Epsom salts twice a week

Which insoles should I choose for cycling shoes?

Ultimately, this will depend on the actual cycling shoe. When it comes to mountain biking shoes and other tight-fitting options, you would be best looking at BLUE, BLACK, and CARBON. The reason being that these will provide the best bio-mechanical support. Still, road cycling shoes would be enhanced by YELLOW insoles as they have a heel-to-toe profile. This profile helps to stabilize the foot and allows a greater transfer of power from foot to pedal.

Which insoles should I choose for golf shoes?

If you wear tight-fitting golf shoes, BLACK or CARBON would be best as they are thin. Since the stabilizer cap is low profile, it will consume less space and allow for good support. With this being said, more support will be found in an athletic-style shoe. Once you remove the manufacturer’s insole, you should replace it with BERRY, BLUE, ORANGE, or even GREEN insoles.

Will GREEN insoles work with manufacturer’s insoles?

You are always welcome to experiment with insoles. However, it is not recommended that you choose GREEN insoles with shoes that do not allow the removal of the factory insole. If there is enough room with the GREEN insole in place, go ahead and try it for an hour or so as a test. If the test doesn’t go so well, Superfeet has many low-profile insoles that are a lot better for the required job.
